/Mats -
i am trying to encode shallow hal which i ripped using smart ripper.
load up the wav file and d2v ,video starts working then just crashes the computer.
as for is the souce error free god know you lost me im new to this -
1) try to reboot the computer right before you're about the encode so you can clear up the memory
2) ctrl-alt-del and close any unecessary proggies (i think all the ones you really need is explorer and systray...not sure if others are needed) -
I was having the same problems with error messages. I read some articles here and started converting my audio files into WAV format. I haven't had a problem since.
First you need to download the Virtual Dub program. Once you've done that:
Open the AVI in Virtual Dub, go Audio->Full Processing Mode, then Audio->Compression->no compression(PCM), then Audio->Conversion->44100Hz->OK, then File->Save WAV and choose name for file and save it to whatever folder you will remember. This extracts the audio, now just load both files into TMPGEnc and encode as usual - should work just fine.
Run a search on this site to find the Virtual Dub download. On my 2000 Pentium it only takes about 45 seconds to save the audio to WAV so it really isn't any problem or hassle at all. -
Oops, sorry!
I use the Virtual Dub program to convert the audio on AVI files. I don't know if it would work with a DVD rip
