I am having a problem with the subtitles of the movie Wintalkers. Usually subtitles are inherent in the movie when it is in English and another language comes on. Yet in this movie, when they speak Japanese or Navajo, no english subtitles come on. I use the program DVD2SVCD with CCE, burning it with Nero. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I was wondering.....I put two audio tracks in one of my SVCD's, but i didn't make a menu, how would i access that other audio track while playing a movie, or....to better phrase that, how would i use the second audio in place of the original audio track. Thanks again!!!!

yea....
any who has region 1 of this movie....can you check to see if the subs are hardcoded during spoken foreign language, or are they a separate subtitle stream..... -
o...i'm also thinking that saving private ryan and thin red line could also possibily have spoken foreign language where subs are needed...
if anyone has region 1 of these movies, can you check to see if there are subs needed, and if so, if they are hardcoded into the video itself or separate subtitle stream... -
I think its hard coded. I didnt pay much attention, but it came out fine when I ripped it.

when i turned on regular subs (closed captioned...appears all the time, as opposed to forced captions that only appear during the foreign speaking), the regular subs didn't translate the french, but rather the subs were in french when french was spoken..so there was no translation into english....
the dvd had no forced caption that appears only during foreign speaking.... -
yea....i just redid windtalkers with the subtitles....
i use vobsub/vdub method and those particular subtitles were in the 4th subtitle stream..(forced captions)
the first three subtitle streams were for closed captions of english, spanish, and french..i believe
