Awhile ago I got a VCD from a friend. It didn't play right on my DVD player, so I did some research here and copied the .dat file to my drive, used DVDGear to go from .dat to .mpg and then used Toast to make a new VCD (I'm on a Mac). It worked great! (Try one - success)
Today, I wanted to copy that VCD for a friend. So, I copied the .dat file to my HD and used VCDGear to go from .dat to .mpg and then used Toast to burn a new VCD only this time I ended up with a very blocky picture (Try two)! So then I tried using VCDGear to just go from .mpg to .mpg and then burn the VCD and I got the same thing (Try three).
Another thing was that on the first VCD I burned, I ended up with three folder and a .mov file. On the second (and third) VCD, I didn't end up with this .mov file.
Shouldn't this have worked? Anyone know what went wrong?
(As a side note, I did eventually successfully copy it by just doing a CD copy, but the engineer part of me wants to know what I was doing wrong at first)
Thanks!
