  1. I have downloaded a .mpg video file (an episode of Alias that I missed) and have tried converting it and creating a VCD so I can watch it on my DVD Player.
I used TMPGEnc to convert it, and then burned in onto a CDR using Easy CD Creator Deluxe 5.0. I have tried it both with and without a menu, and with the Record method set to Trace-at-once (Finalize CD) and Disc-at-once, but none of the VCDs will play.
I have a Pioneer DV-503 and a Panasonic LV-50 portable player. Both playerd seem to recognize that it is a VCD, but when I push play, they just spin the disc and display a blue screen.
I have checked the disc on my computer, and there is a .dat file on the disc that does contain the video, and it will play on my PC.

    Any suggestions?

If yours will play CDRW's experiment with those...If they dont work you just erase and use over.....when you get it right burn to CDR.

Lots of people have better luck burning with Nero...try it...if you want to try before buying..the demo on their site is full featured ...it just expires after so many days.
