    Hey! I'm trying to convert an mpeg to avi, but in the video menu when i go to compression, there's only a few choices and those choices arent the ones i need. Do i need a codeced to get the other formats? Like Mpeg and all the other stuff?

    Get Nimo Codecs , it has almost all video codecs including Divx
    search for it on Google

    To convert avi to MPEG you cannot use virtualdub. You'll need an MPEG encoder like TMPGenc (see tools section).
