Can anyone give me some pointers to correct a problem i am having.
I have an .avi clip that I can successfully encode using Tmpgenc to mpg. In the original .avi, there are no problems with the video at all. After encoding through tmpgenc (tried using vcd, svcd/ntsc options and color correction, as well as full screen to center options) but during the playback of the .MPG file, i get short color inconsistencies that is like a purple or red tint. It detracts from the video for a moment, then switches back properly to the correct colors.
Has anyone experienced this before? Should I try a different encoder, if so, which one?
Thank you for your reply.

If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.Hello. -
I have the same prob. I tried increasing the priority of the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader to 1 with no improvement.
I even tried encoding in TMPGenc with other settings... originally SVCD, then DVD... Still the same problem.
I want to know how to fix it but also how to prevent it.
I started with a an avi file made in Adobe Premiere 6 (from several stills). The avi looks great. I only get the pinking after converting with TMPGenc. -
Also, not only does the avi look great but it shows no errors in Vdub. My res was 740x480.
After increasing the Dirct Med to priority 1 in TMPGenc, I also installed the SMR patch, verified that the Angelpotion codec is not installed (in TMPGenc), & tried using Vdub to frameserve to TMPGenc (since the avi loads fine w/out any pink in Vdub).... PINKING STILL THERE !!!
I read in another post that Premiere 6.5 can directly encode DVD compliant mpg2 with great quality. If I have the pinking problem in TMPGenc, will I also have the problem in Premiere 6.5?
I would upgrade to 6.5 (fr 6.0) for this feature alone b/c TMPGenc seems to have this pinking problem re-occur. But my guess is it is the some codec or file buried in the OS that is causing the problem & not TMPGenc.
Anyone with a more educated guess or solution. -
i had a problem w/coloures where yelow became blue after i install some "improvement software" to avi files
i donīt remember the name (straigth to trash)
so i recomend to un-install the codecs and software/patch that should improve quality
just try native codecs -
