  1. I have a large (728MB) mpeg-1 i'm trying to cut in half using TMGPEnc.

I goto mpeg tools, merge and cut, select the section i want,I then see start: 0.00 sec end: 2050.21 sec. When i hit run, the process begins but only for the first 268.80 seconds... I end up with only the first 4 minutes or so cut.

Can anybody tell me why this is happening? and how to successfully cut this mpeg?

    Thanks

It sounds like it's corrupt.. but I'm not sure.

Does the movie play fine otherwise?

Did you do the TMPGenc file or did you download it?

Try the MPEG corrector, you find it in the Tools section. And then Tro cutting it again.
    Thanx/

  3. Thanks for the quick reply.

The file seems to play fine as it is.

I tried mpeg-corrector, then selected the fixed file in TMPGEnc. when i tried to select the section i wanted to cut, tmpgenc wont even play the (fixed) file! worse than before...

I downloaded tmpgenc (beta 12i) from it's homepage.

    Any other ideas?

    Matt.

  4. just tried another (smaller, about 400mb) mpeg... this one seems to work fine - so it must be my original file... although it plays fine...

    Any ideas?

I use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" it scans the movie and gives a list of bad frames. You can then cut those frames out and finaly save a new copy. use streaming, only takes a few min.

I use M2 Edit for cutting, not tried it in Vdub on Mpeg only AVI. I only use TMPGEnc to make the Mpeg ready for VCD
