black and white movie - NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am new to this so hope someone can help me out. I just converted Rush Hour 2 from avi to mpeg using the program avi2vcd and burned it. I played it on my standalone dvd player and it is basically a black and white movie. Everything else is fine - just need the color. Can anyone give me a clue as to what went wrong or what I should look at to fix?

Hi,

Did you encode the movie in your country's display system. (PAL/NTSC). Because if you play a NTSC movie on a PAL only TV (Or the other way around), this is what you get.
This can easily be fixed bij changing the output system on your Stand Alone DVD-Player to your system in the setup menu of the player.
