  1. Hi,

I converted an AVI using TMPGEnc and VDub to SVCD.

Playing the file on an SD220e it works fine most of time, with a couple of exceptions which I need help on:-

1.Everynow and then it jumps \ stutters for a second.

2.The blacks (dark scenes) are sometimes blocky \ pixelated.

When I converted the file I extracted the audio and used VBR with 600\2520\1700 (min\max\avg) settings to get it on 2 CD's

Another question whenever I try to set the max VBR above 2520 it just returns back to 2520, Is 2520 high enough??

also what is the difference between full processing and direct copy when extracting audio??

Apologies for so many questions, especially if they are silly.

    Thanks Mark

If you use full processing mode you can save it as an uncompressed PCM wav file which is what you want. If you choose direct stream copy it will save the audio as it is, using the same compression codec.

At a guess I would say the bitrate is getting too high for your DVD player to handle well.

Too low a bit rate (see above!)

to make this possible, load unlock.mcf from the extras folder but be warned, 2520 is the max video bitrate for a Standards Compliant SVCD, go above that and you are makeing an XSVCD (non-standard). The further away from the standard you go, the less compatibility you get, also, see my answer to 1 above.
