  1. I edit a home mini dv movie in premiere and export the timeline as move. i burn the movie using nero as an svcd. i then play it and find sound and video is out of sync. I understand that this appears to be a common problem but have yet to receive any assistance that might help me rectify the problem. Also the video contect will stop, skip and jump at times.
    any advice welcome .

sounds like you let nero re-encode the movie .. do not under any case let nero encode anything ...

which version of premier are you using ? as it depends on what you do

  3. Thanks for the reply - i'm using premiere 6
nero is encoding the video - how do i stop it from doing that and still burn the svcd to disk?

export your movie from adobe as a avi interleaved file (you can use huffyuv to compress the avi in a lossless compression to save space).
set audio to 44.1 / 16 bit joint stereo or stereo.

download and install TMPGEnc mpeg encoder and select svcd template ..

load your avi you made into TMPEnc and hit go ...

load the resultant mpeg file in to nero svcd template ... if nero says its a non complacent mpeg file for svcd -- hit "turn off complacent"

    burn

  7. I followed the advice and downloaded TMPGEnc-2.58.44.152-Free and did as suggested and tried to load my avi file created with premiere 6 and could only load it in the audio stream line not the video - it then encoded it and when i played it back i only got audio of course. i tried again to load it in the video file section of the window and it told me that it was an unsupport file and gave me no options. What next?

u do not have a mpeg2 decoder installed -- the easy method to do so is to install powerdvd which is supported by tmpgenc ..

that is the only problem ..

  9. I do have powerdvd - but it only played the audio - i was unable to load the avi into the TMPEnc video line only the audeo for some reason. it called the avi unsupported

    Try this:

    Capture and Edit in Premiere…

Encode and Burn in DVD Movie Factory…

This should give you great results, and will add more features in menu creation, etc…
It’s also very easy to use, plus it’s CHEAP! (and free to try)

You can download a trial copy of DVD Movie Factory from
    http://www.ulead.com/dmf/runme.htm
    It’s about $45.00
