I caapture the video using this card and the resulting AVI video clip. I cannot convert the clip to vcd, it says illegal bitstream format. Can i convert the video to mpeg directly using this card, or can anyone help with the convertion of the avi file it is giving me.
thanks

Hi, I use the Happaupage WinTV2000 that comes with my card. Since I have the divx codec's installed I can capture the AVI to a mpeg 4 format. If I use the standard uncompressed AVI I loose more frames than I capture.
I have done a few recordings at
25 Frames, audio Default PCM 8 "Divx Mpeg-4 fast motion" 352 X 288 24 bit color
This is then converted to PAL VCD using TMPGEnc
I experimented with all the codec's to see what quality I could get with the smallest size, and no frame loss. The AVI's are very good, and when placed on a VCD they look fine. In my case I use PAL VCD so you may want to capture at the NTSC size instead (352 X 240)
For some reason I cannot capture audio at anything else except the default PCM 8 (Line in)
Divx Mpeg-4 fast motion.avi
AVI to VCD with TMPGEnc
Hit File > Video Compression
keyframe every 10
