  1. I converted alot of Divx's to VCD/SVCD without problems. Now i have converted a Divx that the audio is way out of synch. I did everything the same as usual (with Virtualdub 1.4.8) What's up?

  4. Same problem - different movie

I've had no problems at all with sync until Panic Room - My DivX file is Ok but in conversion to Mpeg the sync falls out of line after about 5 minutes

I am currently in the process on converting to SVCD to see if that will work

I also had this problem with showtime. I worked out that the audio is 0.6 seconds before the video. When you set it up to encode with TMPGenc, click on settings - source range, and you will see a box which says audio gap correct. You need to enter -600 milisec's in this box. Try encoding a couple of minutes first to make sure that is syncs correctly, but if its the same file I had should work ok.

As long as the audio is out of sync by a constant amount, you can correct it using the method I described above. Try encoding a minute or 2 with an estimate of the audio sync error, and increase or decrease the "audio gap correct" until you get it spot on.

  7. I'm tring to convert "Snatch". The amount of "offsynch" is not constant. In the begining it looks ok, gone to the middle or end and the audio is WAY out of synch? (I'm talking about minutes, i don't even know witch way)

  8. When you saved the wav file did you use full processing mode and save it as an uncompressed PCM wav file. You need to make sure you hav'nt got direct stream copy selected or it will just save an exact (still compressed) copy of the audio.

  9. Yes, like i used to do it with allother movies, (save *.wav uncompressed PCM/full processing mode/44kHz). Then in TempEnc PAL-SVCD/25.000fps (i live in Switzerland and make all of them PAL). Till now i've coded around 20 movies with no problems at all?

  10. I've extracted the *.wav again with Virtualdub and get the same result: *.wav=1:36:31, the *.avi=1:38:34 (Information in Virtualdub). So what's going on here? That must make problems with the synch?? Also found something else in Virtualdub: Video stream # of frames=147859 / Audio stream # of frames=147843?? is this normal?

  11. It might be that somebody changed the framerate of the video before sharing it on the net - you need to calculate what would be framerate for 1 hour 36 sec 31 ms long video and change to it using AviFrate.

  12. Just load the file into AviFrate and chose/type in a new framerate that is 1.02124 times original f/rate.
