Pardon my ignorance but is Taiwan on a Pal or NTSC standard.

Is the country you are in on the same standard ?

They won't normally autoplay on your computer but should play if you have DVD software installed and you select the mpeg or dat file.

Microsoft Media player and most other players will play the same way but you must read the file directly or set up the association of the .dat or mpg to your player and then doubleclick on the file in the window explorer.

Your files are no doubt mpeg1 but just in case Mpeg2 files will require an mpeg2 decoder to play in the windows media player.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
