I have a firewire card as well as a Sony DCR-TRV120 digital camera which can be used as a DV/analog bridge. My question is, how do I output to the digital cam through firewire? I am using Adobe Premier 6 and can't seem to be able to do it. Is there any way to play a DivX straight to the cam or, better yet, through the cam and into an analog input (VHS or TV) via the analog RCA output on the cam? Any help would be appreciated!

  2. i'd imagine the only way this could be done was by using the TV out port on your computer, if you have one, and running this into the camera's analogue input.

No I don't have one. If I did I wouldn't be having this dilemma.

Well, I thought for sure that 6.0 could do it. There IS an option to do it, but it doesn't seem to be working, or maybe I just don't know how to do it. But Vegas Video 3 will be able to go from "DIVX" to analog out? Anyone's help is appreciated.

Ok I got Vegas Video 3, but it seems you can't go straight from DivX to DV tape, you have to render it first, which will end up taking up around 24 gigs for a 2 hour DivX, which I don't have. Is there ANY WAY to play or go straight from DivX to DV tape through firewire, using any program, doing whatever, without uncompressing. Thanks.

What are you trying to do? Play divx on tv? or taping divx onto your cam? or both?

Maybe there is another solution and you might not need to do what your doing.

Yeah, either or. I'd like to be able to watch DivX movies straight from the comp to TV, or I want to be able to go from DivX to DV tape, and then it would be a cinch to watch it on TV by using the analog out on the DV cam. The prob is getting the Divx from the comp to the cam.
