Problem: SVCD burned with Nero 5.5.9.14 cannot be played or copied to disk
Win2k Prof. SP3
Nero 5.5.9.14
Elecard MPEG2-Stuff installed
PowerDVD 4.0 installed
Nimo Codec Pack 5.0 build 8 installed
VIA 4-in-1 v.443 installed
ASPI installed
Hardware:
Asus K7M
LITE-ON LTR-12101B
Players used/tried to use:
Windows MediaPlayer 6.4
JPlayer 1.0.0.5
PowerDVD 4.0
RadLight 3.03 r 5.2
The Sourcefile can be played with every mentioned player, is 100% SVCD-conform and has been burned at 12x-speed without problems
the disk cannot be played, the .mpg on the disk cannot be played, opened or copied to HDD
I created an image of the cd with clonecd, opened it with isobsuter and tried to extract the .mpg-file. isobuster reported every sector of it unreadable!
If you have an idea how to fix this problem, and it does not include installing WinDVD or using another mediaplayer, please tell me
Edit: Burning options:
"generate standard-cd" checked
bitrate fits 74 minutes
resolution set to NTSC (sourcefile is the same)
----
no menu
----
ISO-level 2
ASCII
Joliet (maybe this is the problem)
First two restricions checked

burn, close, DAO

Yeah, I found the Solution:
I burned it again, with Joliet disabled and sticking to the ISO-standard (ISO-lvl 1, ISO 9660 charset, no restriction-bypasses checked)
AND IT WORKS NOW!
I can play the disk with powerdvd and can copy the file to my HD. I can even play it directly from CD with every player
So if you have the same problem, check your vcd/svcd with isobuster for joliet and burn it again if joliet is present
