  1. 1 When I am finished with my editing, how do I properly save the avi as an MPEG?

    2. Obviously I want some form of compression. What codec is recommended for filming cars street racing? Adobe defaults to cinepac by Radius I see.

    3. I've tried exporting to MPEG before. But Adobe always made the MPEG bigger (higher resolution i guess) than the original AVI and it looked crappy. How do I correct this.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post

When you export to MPEG there should be options for it. Check to make sure your bitrate is not set too high. If your making VCD, SVCDs, XSVCDs or DVDs? This will determine what resolution and bitrate you encode at.

What codec you use is determined by what format you want to use it. VCDs – DVD use MPEG2. If you are going to put it on the web for download then Divx or Windows Media Encoder may be the better option…

    Hope this helps…

  3. I guess you are using Premiere 6.0 or lower. Premiere 6.5 has default MainConcept MPEG-2 plug-in, which is excellent. Of course, you can also use other MPEG-2 plug-ins, such as CCE, to export your timeline. However, to configure settings for plug-in isn't that simple. CCE has no built-in resize filter, so prior to CCE 2.66, you can't export SVCD compliant MPEG-2 stream. I am going to install Premiere 6.5 tommorrow and have some fun
