  1. I looked around and did not see if there was a way to EDIT movies from DVDs. I am looking to only capture certain scenes from a DVD disk on my PC and then burn it to VCD. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Have you tried with DvdX ? After you encode the whole movie, you need TmpgEnc to cut the parts that you need.

  3. I have not. I was hoping for a more direct way where I can mark from point A to point B and capture that. I guess you have to burn the entire DVD and then use a program to encode the parts you want?

  4. You could capture the output of a DVD player to a PC through a capture care. Not the best way but it would get selected clips. You have to watch out about Macrovision.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  5. I think no. You can move cursor to the starting frame, an manually stop encoding after you have the part that you want. Try that way. i think it will work.

  6. OK, thanks, I will give that a try. I was hoping to be able to capture from something like WinDVD but that sounds like it won't work. Thanks again for all of your help.

  7. If you use dvdx you can select the starting point using the slider at the bottom and then by using the amount of frames to encode you can choose where it finishes.
