  1. I used TMPGEnc to join about 6 mpegs. Everything went fine as far as the video goes. Here's the problem. When it joined them all together it just has a generic looking icon that has no program associated with it. It plays fine when I choose windows media player to open it but why would it not have the standard windows icon?
    THe files were mpeg's originally (and they had the wmp icon) so shouldn't the new file have the same icon?

  2. I assume the original files were encoded as VCD compliant Mpegs. When you use the merge/cut feature there is a drop down box which is set to default as mpeg-1 system (automatic). You need to change this to mpeg-1 video-cd.
