  1. I did everything as explained with VirtualDub, started frameserver, opened tmpgenc, and this message pop: "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order" I really don't understand why. I have followed step by step explanation how to convert DivX to VCD with subtitles on. I converted the SRT to SSA. EVERYTHING properly...

    Gorgy:
That is a dead link. Anyway, the Newbie Guides say:
If TMPGEnc freezes or crashes when converting or you receive errors such as
    Unexpected decimal point calculation
Illegal floating decimal point calculation order
Try first to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
    Hello.

And frameserver is turned on, and it is the only thing you have run since booting your computer, right?

  7. Thanks, ppl. I tried everything. Problem remains. No bad frames found. The message "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order" pops up at the begining of the ecoding with frameserve. I'm blocked. Totally. If you have some idea...save my hours of searching. Thanks

  8. Are you adding subtitles to your movie file?

Common cause: damaged subtitle file. Open the subtitle file using Sub Station if you are using ssa subs (you should get an error message that the subs are wrong version) and save them again. Otherwise, use one of the many excellent utilities, open the subs (say in Subtitle Workshop), export them to another format, and try using the resulting file instead (you can use the Textsub plugin for Virtualdub).

    Cheers
