I have been converting dvd's using dvdx and the panasonic codec for well over a year now but it has always using PAL format dvd's. I have recently got a few dvd's which I would like to turn into vcd however, when I try to convert them using the panasonic codec and change all the setting to ntsc, all I get is an error beep but no reason for it pops up and the encoding stops 1 second into encoding. I can encode it using dvdx alone without the use of the codec but the result is poor quality, I dont change any of the settings I use when using the codec so it must be settings to do with the codec . Has anyone managed to encode dvd using th tools I have mentioned and if so what were the settings for the codec.

The problem with the panasonic plugin & encoder is that it cant handle NTSC to well!! picture is very stuttery anyway but if U want to see it in action for yourself download flask!! & look at the readme files that go with it!Anyway for a better solution to the conversion of NTSC please use the tmpeg guides as they are simpler plus it can convert ntsc without the horrible stutter.....
