  1. I have 2 files (702mb and 667mb) which otherwise have identical specs (Div3/Lo-Motion/mp3/128kbs/cbr).
I want to join them together and have encountered the following problem .
After opening the first part in Virtualdub then appending the second (as per the instructions...),the resulting file is WAY out of sync.
When I previously opened the 2 files in a Info Viewer software the audio and video are identical lengths (4323 secs and 4337 secs) and play quite nicely with no sync problems.
After the appending is done the Info Viewer indicates that the video is 8660 secs (which is dead on) and the audio is 3141 secs???????.
I've also tried the following suggestion:
    Quote:
    1. load the first segment
    2. in 'Video', 'Select Range' choose '15' for 'End offset', 'Frame'
    3. check 'Offset audio..' and 'Cut off audio..'
    4. Save the first segment (direct stream copy)
    5. load it again and append the second segment
    6. save it as usual (direct stream copy)

    Still no luck.
I've tried several AVi/DIVx joining utilities and they seem to do the same thing.
    Anyone?

  2. I experimented with various proggies and ended up doing this.

Joined 2 AVI's together with Virtualdub Append (leaving audio out),extracted both audios as WAV(from original AVI's),then used a little tool called ADDaWAV to append the 2 WAV's together.
When I tested the encode process at various points, the sync was right on.
Its a kind-of-a long way for a short cut...but unless someone knows a better way ,its gonna have to do.
