  1. This may seem like a stupid question, but it's giving me a headache trying to figure it out.

I open my file with v-dub and convert the framerate to 29.97, do any filtering that I may need to and start the frameserver with the avi proxy on. Start CCE and find the vdr from v-dub, and open that. It can go one of two ways then..........

    1) If the source file is video only with the mentioned filtering and frame conversion, CCE locks tighter than sh** and refuses to do anything until I close the program.

    2) If the source contains both audio and video, the vdr will load fine and then encode with cce at something like 545-550 in the speed indicator. When the encoding is finished I have a mpv and mp2 that multiplex and play well.

What I want to do is the avi video ONLY frameserved to cce. Audio is something I want to deal with seperately using a prog like tooLame I've encoded in cce with an avi video that didn't need any editing or resizing and the speed/quality was amazing!! How come I can't frameserve the same type of file? Everything was identical between the two........

Anyone have an answer to this? I can frameserve video only from tmpg to cce with vfapi.......but the result is MUCH slower.

  2. First of all, which version of CCE SP are you using? CCE 2.50 supports AVS and VDR frameserving, 2.62 doesn't. 2.64 reportedly does and 2.66 OFFCIALLY does.

what is your source and why do you feel it's necessary to change frame rate?

To encode video only with CCE, simply choose Elementary streams and uncheck Audio, especially so when there is no audio being served. I always unchecked it. If I have to encode audio with CCE, I do it separately (with video unchecked) and in CBR mode only.

BTW, the number you read is .550 or .545 RT.......
