  1. I downloaded a couple of films already encoded in SVCD, when I play them back the sync is off about 1.5 seconds. Its off on my pc when I view it on WMP and its also off in my standalone.
The sample's that I downloaded of the same films played fine.
I tried to open them with VirtDub becuase I was gonna extract the audio and try reencoding, but it wont open the file.
Could combining over 50 rar files cause sync problems?
I use Dowload Accel and I had to resume the download a few times, could that had an affect?
My PC specs are in my profile.

  2. Okay,
    I discovered my problem..
The video's were out of sync on my pc because I was fast forwarding to different spots of film. When I let the film play from beginning it was fine.
As far as the sync problem when I burned them, after I knew the source files where fine I thought maybe I was doing to many other things (multi-tasking).
So I rebooted my pc, and just burnt the file to SVCD, that was the only task I had running.
And presto the cd was fine..
I am figuring out when working with video its best not do other things at the same time.

Anyone got any other tips for burning a succesfull SVCD w/nero please let me know.

I have an Iomega 12x10x32 with Burnproof, And I am burning at 12x, would dropping down to 8x or 4x make any difference, or does easyVCD burn SVCD's better.

I wouldnt think that downloading files and burning at the same time would cause a bad sync'd SVCD, but I guess it did..

  3. Just to be sure you should consider burning a single process event unless you can afford the time & coasters. While many burners have "BURN-PROOF" or other such technologies, if you are doing intensive tasks especially with your hard drive you risk burning a coaster.

Nero burns great disks and has high compatability. As far as burn speed you can search the forums - maybe with a CD-RW disk you should burn slower to get the best DVD compatability but on CD-Rs you should consider burning at full speed. I have heard Iomega drives can be problematic but if you are having good luck - go for it.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  4. Kitty,
Have you discovered any syncing problems when creating a menu versus just burning the file alone.
On the first burn (the one with sync probs) I created a menu screen, with a picture of the cd cover in the background and one thumbnail.
The 2nd one I burnt without the menu.

    Thanks for your help,
I think you have replied to all my post, your very helpfull..
