  1. Hello guys, I'm having trouble getting the subtitles where I want. What I mean is, I feel that the subtitles in my DVD-ripps are to high up!? When I'm converting my DVD's to SVCD using DVD2SVCD and I make the subs permanent and so on. I'm using the default settings which means that Y=
-1. I've tried some different settings but it doesn't seem to work. Please if anyone out there know what to use - please tell me.

Second I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me if something is wrong or does it really take 11 - 15 hours per ripp???

    Sorry for the bad english!

  2. 1) did you look at the location of the subs in the original DVD? perhaps, the subs were that high up in the original DVD...

    2) try not using the all-in-one proggies......check out these sites to add subs

this is good if you using smartripper->dvd2avi->tmpgenc->nero:
    http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/subtitle_guide.htm

this replaces dvd2avi as the frameserver with flaskmpeg:

having both of these has given me perfect subs...

in terms of encoding time, it depends on your CPU power, which is critical.....but also your settings, (i.e. 2 pass vbr, motion seach accuracy affects encoding time alot, filters like adaptive de-interlace also adds to encode time)
