  1. I've been burning encoding some of my divx movies to mpeg2, and burning onto dvd-rw's. But about an hour in, they all start skipping, and freezing. I had been using cheapo brand dvd-rws, and figured that was the problem. So I bought some Maxell DVD-RWs, and the same thing is happening. I thought Maxell were good quality discs. Could it still be the fault of the media? Should I get some Pioneer or Apple DVD-RWs? TIA

Like it's little brother, the PS2 has a very picky laser and is not recommended to play other than official DVDs/PS discs. You can certify this by going to your local video/audio dealer and testing your DVD-RWs on some "official" DVD player.

  3. thanks for the reply. do you think pioneer discs or apple discs would possibly work? I do have another Sony set top dvd player, unfortunately however, it won't play dvd-rws.
