I downloaded the Disney movie Ice age in AVI format...
It's a rather small file at 196,544 - but I've seen worse images..

Anyway, Windows media player opens and plays it with no problem, but when I try to open it in TMPEG to convert it then only the audio track will load.. the video track will not load anything...????

Here is the properties of the file as windows informs me:
    size: 352 x 288
    audio format: mpeg layer 3
    frame rate: 12fps
    data rate: 44kps

Why wont this open in TMPEG like other AVI's??
what do I need to do to convert it?

  2. Try to convert the file using virtual dub.

First of all, 196,544kb it is most likely a cam copy .
Whether you want to encode it and make a VCD is debatable in my opinion?
The frame rate also is a bit strange.
    Don't think TMPGE likes it.
You could run it through Virtualdub and try a frame rate change but that will probably lead to sync problems.
