  1. Hi I'm new here as you all know. Well I am having some difficulty converting a RM file into an avi file. I've downloaded the Tinra and Tinragui software and have the lastest Realplayer installed on my computer but everytime I try to convert the file, the new converted file is unplayable in my Microsoft Windows Media Player. In the "How to convert RM" page, it said something about changing the compressor to DivX but I can't find it in the drop-display box plz help. The closest one I got was a file with sounds but no picture.

  2. You need to download all the latest DivX codecs for them to be displayed in your drop-down box. Best thing is to get Nimo codec pack from here:

    http://www.btinternet.com/~nimosiro/

Download either Build 7 or Nimo Lite Pack as Build 8 comes with spyware.

That probably is the reason you AVIs are not displaying their pictures. Load your Nimo codecs

Well, we will not for sure until you try it. Besides, you need DivX codecs anyway. Go ahead.

  10. Ok, I've downloaded the Nimo codec and installed it on my computers, I then tried to convert the file and this time it came out with sounds, a black rectangular box(picture placement box) and there are these tiny little lites flashing in the left-top corner of the movie. I think it may have shrunken(sp) my movie. Can I please get an experts opinion on this please? All I wanted to do is to convert the RM file into a file that is both playable in Microsoft windows media player and Quciktime

  11. Thanks to all the people who responded but I found out what the problem was. I thought I'll share with you what's wrong. If you wanna convert an RM file into an Avi with Tinra, you gotta install Realplayer8 or an older version. Installing the lastest RealplayerOne will screw your output converted files.

  12. Are your video and audio synchronized? I've used tinra several times on some real media files I have (south park episodes) and I use an old realplayer (7 something I think) and every time I get very bad audio problems. I think I will have to try to simply play the file and record the audio separately to a wave file, then convert to an avi and then try to synch up the audio manually.

  13. Yes TINRA can set some bad AVI parameters. There are some tips at
http://www.vcdhelp.com/rmto.htm near the bottom of the page.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
