  1. I have actually ripped many of my DVD's to DivX and have been extremely happy with the quality. Though I find that with many animated films, I am getting a large amount of distortion in Hi-motion aeas of the film.

The distortion I am getting is hotizontal lines remaining where the object just moved from. So everything leaves behind a trail.

If anyone can help me, I would be very appreciative. I have put some of the setting s I am using below, but I dont know if that is enough.

    Thankyou in advance for helping.

I am using the program DVDx 2.0 using the following settings -

    aspect ratio : custom 560x400
    Resize : bi-linear MMX
Audio Codec: Lame (dont know what that means, but for all other rips
    this has worked brilliantly)
    Video Codec: Divx5.0.2

    Varial bit-rate mode: 1-pass
    Encoding bitrate 980

  2. I take it by the lack of response that no one else knows how to help me so I spent a good 2 hours searching for answers and found the answer.

So people who come looking for such answers themselves I will answer my own question so that they may know.

You have to select interpolate in the deinterlace drop down menu in the input options.
