  1. I HAVE BEEN CONVERTING AVI FILES TO MPG WITH TMPGENC AND RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS. THE OUTPUT MPG FILE HAS FLASHES OF PURPLE BLOCKS. I CHECKED THE ORIGINAL AVI FILE AND IT IS PERFECT, NO PURPLE BLOCKS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER OR HAS A BETTER SNVERTING SOFTWARE LET ME KNOW.
    THANKS

If you are a newbie, why are you not reading the Newbie Guides like the rest of us? Anyway

P.S. And leaving the caps lock on while posting is considered shouting and usually uncalled for in a forum.

Your settings in TMPGEnc is not totally right
    ...click option then
    ...click Environmental setting
    ...click VFAPI plugin tab
click DirectShow and make it's priority 2 or 3

    Happy converting

and in a couple of weeks you'll see a question just like this , extend to them the same courtesy i extended you, 10 months or so ago I was asking the same question...
