I got this AVI, and it plays fine. I wanted to make a VCD from it. I converted it with TMPG to MPEG1 to make a VCD as my standalone don't support SVCD. Because it was only a small file, I increased the video bitrate from the standard to 1850kps thinking I'd use up all the CDR and also that this would help maintain the quality as I can't play MPEG2. All's fine when I play the MPEG on my PC, but when I play the CD in my standalone, the audio is terrible. It's not out of sync, and the video is spot on, it's just the audio is all fluttery and jittery and not at all smooth. I was thinking this was because I changed the video framerate? Any ideas as to what I've done wrong and how to fix it appreciated.

Thanks Mr Tommyknocker, just trying that now, I've also re encoded some of the MPEG using TMPEG and the standard VCD PAL template and that solves the problem, but of course the video frame rate is lower and you can see that in the quality when played back on my DVD player. I'm thinking maybe I need to change the audio frame rate to match that of the video frame rate?
