  1. Has anyone used the NTI CD-Maker product ? (see http://www.ntius.com). If so, does it support the creation of menus/chapters on VCD/SVCD ? Ulead has now bundled a basic disc-writer into their MSP6 product, which I have, but it doesn't allow to you use multiple MPEGS (it all has to be in one giant MPEG file first), and the menu creation is VERY simple. Any feedback ?

Yes, I use NTI. Wonderful program. For VCD, you can have chapters. I just created a VCD today with 3 chapters. It's as simple as drag/drop multiple VCD compliant mpegs.

No menu options for VCD. I do not have a SVCD compatible DVD player, so I have never made an SVCD. I haven't even made a SVCD compliant MPEG, so I dunno if there is an option to create menus for that. I do know that you can download a trial version of NTI, so you may wish to give it a try. I can pretty much guarantee that once you use it, you'll end up sticking with it. It's a rock solid app.

  3. Thanks for the suggestion. You're right. NTI is a GREAT program. I bought it and love it. Question for you -- what is the exact bit rate that the MPEG files need to be set to in order to work correctly ? I've been trying some that didn't work, even though I encoded them using the TMPGEnc set to the standard NTSC VCD setting.
