i have a BT878 capture card. i have been experimenting with it for a year or so and have come to this conclusion; that the card is not acceptble for capturing from VHS tapes and UHF Tv transmission
When i set it up to capture from my Satellite PayTv (which is digital) the captured file quality is so good i cannot tell the difference between the original and my captured file.
yet when i set it up to capture from a Video tape, or just the Free To Air tv signal - its just terrible. very grainy with lots of red and perhaps green diagonal waves through the picture.
Its not the VCR, i have 2, and also a Video camera and the problem repeats.
Its not the quality of the source, i have tested heaps of tapes that have great quality. i also have pretty good Free to Air TV reception.
Its not the Computer as i have tested this on 3 computers. I am using the modified drivers from Avermedia
Its not the cable - i have used AV, Svideo, RF
Its not the capture process - simply watching the TV signal on the monitor displays this bad quality.
i have fiddle and tweaked settings to my hearts content - to no avail.
Do i just have a crappy Capture Card?
