I read in another thread in this forum about this new one-click, perfect copy-making software.
I visited their website
http://www.dvdxcopy.com/
If this isn't vaporware, it's the software we've all been waiting for. Has anyone tried this software yet?

Nope and i don't think anyone will.
The company that's selling this are Con Artists, the software they're using is all on the web which you can download and use for a certain amount of time.
So don't waste your money buying this, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. -

I don't doubt your statement (even if it is a bit strong-worded), but are you saying their claim is they have combined existing tools into a single-click solution? My system:

everyone needs to watch out for these one touch things......
I have been doing vcds/svcd for years and now ive been doing dvds for about a year and oneday my friend comes up to me and told me he bought a program from best buy that creates vcds/svcds at a couple of touches of a button, i was ok kool , i was glad that he happened to catch onto vcd/svcd technology but he didnt realize what he paid $60 for could have cost him nothing. the program he bought contained dvdx and some burning program with a new interface to connect them both. he felt ripped off but unfortunately no returns on opened software.
also when he has a problem with something he doesnt know what to do since he doesnt actually know what going on he just knows what buttons to push to start the copying/conversion. and they charge for customer service...what a rip off
those one touch things (that cost money) seem to extort money from people who dont know how and also robs them of the knowledge they could have learned if theydidnt take the shortcut
just my opinion...who cares right ... lol
but definately watch out for those programs, i dont like seeing people buying things they could get for freecheck out http://www.geocities.com/eatin_sammiches/sprucecreations.html to download additonal buttons and backgrounds for SPRUCE-UP menu creation -

I couldn't agree more. Which is why I asked the question in this forum: to find out whether:
1. It's vaporware
2. It's a cheap GUI over existing freeware
3. It's the real thing.
Gues we won't know for sure until someone tries it or they release a demo ...My system:

Actually they claim to have new technology which is as of yet unpatented.
The general feeling is that they have repackaged some freeware programs ,such as dvd2svcd does, and are trying to sell this bundled freeware for a profit.
The reason for this is that they had another product which basically did the same thing as dvd2svcd or easy vcd or dvd to multiple cds, but they tried to get 50 a copy for it. The programs were made free to the public by the authors of the programs.
Is it a breakthrough? There seems to be demand for the product.
Somebody is going to author a program which either connects or combines the 6 or so steps together.
I think by Christmas. Read the link posted above. Check out their faq.Jim -
dvd2svcd is all freeware apart from the encoders themselves!
tmpenc is free permanently for mpeg1 but not tfor mpeg2!
cce will never be free! (only with the logo it is)
people cheat yes - but very few can claim to have paid $2000 for cce!
the light edition version is almost affordable though!
