  1. ok...say you download a FULL length movie from kazaa or any other p2p prog. and the movie's either smr or tmd.avi.

now after u do this and know the movie plays back A O K.

with these full length movies can u just throw them in TMPGEnc and decode vid and audio all at the same time? then burn as vcd? this just sounds too easy to do IF u can do this with any full length movie u d/l.

or do should you do audio seperatly using virtualdub?

sum1 pls splain the simplest/easiest way to do this plssssssss
    and 100% correct way.

    thanks

  2. If the audio has been encoded as a variable bit rate mp3 then it has to be saved out as an uncompressed wav file.

Open the avi in virtualdub, if it gives a vbr audio warning then you have to do the above, if not then there is prorably no need to do so.

Another way to check is to play the video in virtualdub. If the audio is in sync no need to save the wave file. If the audio is out of sync then you need to save as uncompressed wav file.

  3. hey tucker...i played the movie in hub..it played the vid fine..same with the sound...i never got no warning...so can i just take that vid n throw it in tmpgenc and start decoding to mpeg then burn to vcd form?

and can i do this same tactic with each movie? as long as the movie plays in virtual hub and i get no warning..i can just pop the movie in tmpgenc and make it mpeg?

I regularly download movies from kazaa and the first thing I do is open them in VirtualDub. If I don’t get any error messages ,and 9 times out of 10 I don’t, I do a straightforward encoding with TMPGEnc (using the wizard may help if you haven’t done this before). This method seems to work for me.

You will still be able to convert to VCD, but not SVCD.
