First of all I would like to say that I hate movies in Xvid format! They are nothing but trouble to convert to svcd in the first place.
Now I wonder if someone could help me. I downloaded 'Insomnia' in xvid format and cd 1 is 103 mins. Now I have tried to encode with tmpgenc and set it to fit it on a 90min cd. usually tmpgenc does fit movies to the size i specify, however with this cd it just won't budge.....it keeps giving me a file that is 1.03gb and i hv tried to encode this same cd 3 times already.
I managed to fit cd2 on a 90 min nicely. I downsized that to 949mb.
anyone got any ideas how i could fit this mpg of 1.03gb that i now have after conversion on a 90 min cd? I would not like to convert this the fourth time..........
P.S. i could always split cd1 in two but that would only give me two cd'2 of 30mins each for cd1 and that aint no good.

what about demux, reencode audio to lower bitrate(192 or less should be fine), and remux.

in TMPG, under MPGEtools
I'm not sure I'd go lower than 192, though
128 might be ok...never tried that low beforewhat are you askin' me for...

down codeing the audio will not reduce the file small enough to fit on a 90min. CDR. I think your only chance is to transcode the audio to a 128 bitrate and burn on a 99min. CDR.
