  1. I'm going to keep this simple, I went through the DVD to DVD-R for dummies tutorial here's the link for detailed steps that i took:

    http://www.digital-forums.com/dvd2dvdr/

I went through all the steps flawlessly and used Nero 5.5.9.0 to burn my DVD-RW. -btw, i'm using a pioneer DVD 104 burner with windows xp home P4 2.0Ghz and 512 mb ram.

Ok, when it finished burning it played fine in my standalone dvd player the video was perfect but i did notice the sound is about 3-4 seconds in front of the picture...what could be the problem? i posted the link so you guys could maybe find where the problem lies. Thanks for any help, i am anxious to star burning dvd's. thanks in advance.

  2. I hope the 3-4 seconds is an exaggeration Usually it will be around 1/2 a second or so.

That tutorial doesn't talk about using AC3 Delay Corrector to fix the AC3 file. After you have demuxed the audio track using DVD2AVI (and before you load it into DVD Maestro), you will need to load the AC3 file into AC3 Delay Corrector and have it fix the delay for you. Just open the AC3 file and click the Write button. It will determine the delay automatically from the file name.

  3. i did dl the ac3 delay corrector and used it after dvd2avi. It took out the delay that was in the file but after i did the rest again it still plays in the dvd player but the audio is still like 6-7 seconds in front of the video (no exaggeration) is there another approach that is more efficient than the way i'm doing this?
    thanks for the reply...

  4. Sounds to me like your video stream includes some extra info at the beginning that the audio stream doesn't. When you load the vobs into DVD2AVI are you including the VTS_01_0.VOB? You should always start at VTS_XX_1.VOB. Maybe that is causing your problem.

I just had the same thing happen when I put some STTNG episodes onto dvd-r. There was a 7 Mb vob file that contained a graphic in the last 3 episodes on the dvd. As EnemyWithin, suggested I skipped this 1st vob file & all was well.

  6. i did start with the first vob file, should i skip the first file? that doesn't seem right. I also heard that WB DVD's have PGC's which may be delaying my audio, could that be it? it is a WB dvd. thanks again...

  7. If you look at the size of the 1st vob, you might see that it is very small compared to the normal 1 GB size. In these cases, you should start with the next vob as the 1st one probably doesn't include information about the main movie. When you "Open" in DVD2AVI, simply click on the 2nd vob instead of the 1st one. This should automatically load in the rest of the vobs after the 2nd one. You don't need to do anything special when ripping.

  8. sounds right, i think the problem lies in the pgc's with WB movies. I am ripping Murder by numbers btw, so i took out some of the short PGC's in DVD dycrypter and i am ripping just the movie now so i hope this will work. thanks so far for the help. nathan

  9. I had a 20 audio sync problem when I used DVD Decrypter.
I switched to SmartRipper, and all was fine. DVD Decrypter gave you two extra logos at the beginning of the movie which were not needed.
