  1. How do you deal with this? I want the video and the audio finish at the same time. and I want the video intact. can you loop feed the audio while multiplexing? can you cut the extra audio off after being multiplexed (my feeling is not)? I try to replace the original soundtrack with my own.

use soundforge to "time stretch" the audio to the desired lenght before multiplexing. try not to shrink no more than 95% or stretch more than 105% to keep the same pitch. if you must go beyond that, filters are included to help with pitching, but only to about 89% and 110% respectively.

  3. thank you jkl,

But this does not sound like what i want. I still want to maintain the original speed and pitch of the music. By stretching or sqeezing the music, you distort it.

Load your audio file into Gold Wave. If your video is shorter than your audio, go to "B". If not, go to "A".

    A. If the audio is shorter than the video, load it into Gold Wave. Select Copy, the select Paste. This adds the audio onto itself, thus creating your "loop", as you put it. Repeat until the audio is longer than the video. Go to "B".

    B. Since your video is shorter than your audio now, the rest is easy. Go to Edit-->Marker. In the Start Marker box, enter the length of your video, the End Marker box should have the length of your audio. Select OK. Press the Delete key. This clips the extra audio, and makes it as long as your video. Save.

Mux your original video with your new audio file. Voilá!
