  1. I have a G3 with an external DVD burner and premier 6. I was wondering if it is possible to create a DVD using this set up. Or if it is possible to make an MPG2, save it to DVD/cd and play it back on the computer. I do Video editing at work and the managers would like to be able to have high quality video play back from their laptops, so I am trying to figure out how to do this. I have tried VCD but on the monitors it is really fuzzy and pixilated. Do you know how I could fix this?

Thanks for any and all information you can give.

  2. I'm not real familiar with Premiere, but I don't believe it has DVD authoring capabilities. You can make a MPEG-2 like you said and just burn that to DVD yourself but it will only be playable on your computer with QuickTime if you have the MPEG-2 playback component for it or with VLC (VideoLan Client). The apple DVD player software will not play a stand-alone MPEG-2 file. To create a DVD that is playable on a stand-alone DVD player you need either iDVD or DVD Studio Pro.
