Just downloaded SpruceUp and when I go to the Movie Tab, Right Click and select Add Asset, when I add any mpg file, it looks like its adding it but not files present in the Movie screen.

    Any thoughts?

The file must be DVD compliant mpg. Must have audio at 48000 sampling rate for example,VCD or SVCD filee are 44100 and won't import.

When clicking on some of the files, it comes up with No Compliant format etc, but the other files I tried were standard VCDs and SVCD. No sure what's going on. It looks like it adding it (since the progress bar appears), but can't see any files?

I am going to try out some other files and see how I go.

The files your importing are VCD/SVCD,then the audio bitrate is the problem. You need to resample the audio to a 48000 sampling rate.
Tmpeg can do this. Demux your SVCD into it's .m2v and mp2 components.
Then use Tmpeg to reample the audio to 48000. Rename the new .mp2 to .ac3,be sure the .m2v and ac3 have the same file name and Spruce should import them.
