My Denver DVD-311 is really great - plays anything I throw at it. Until now... For some reason, the latest couple of SVCDs/XSVCDs I've made myself (using Missing Mpeg Tools and BitVice) don't play well. Best result I got was - amazingly enough - using 352x288 (PAL SDTV resolution) and a variable bitrate of 2.1-3 (aiming for 2.300). But even there, when it hit the high bitrate segments, it stuttered - even though reportedly this playe rcan cope w a video bitrate of up to 4000.

When multiplexing (using MMT) I saw that MMT reads the video stream as having 9800000 bps - the theoretical max for BitVice. Could this be part of the problem? An erroneous heading, so to speak? I mean, I've doublechecked all the files/sizes and checked w MPEGInfo etc (even exported out form DVDStudioPro to see the actual bitrates at different parts of the video file) so I know the content is OK. Watching it w QT/VLC runs smoothly too.

Any thoughts?

P.S.
Also noticed realy high bitrates when digitizing old worn VHS. Is it a good idea to use a Noise Cancellation System there?
