  2. Why not go for the new Studio 8? PCMag gave it their Editor's Choice award. I use Vegas Video for video editing, but may get Studio 8 for it's DVD authoring function (motion menus and customizability = nice). Read more here:

Also, visit http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage.asp?Product_ID=577&Langue_ID=7 to get a free trial version from Pinnacle (on CDROM).

  3. Easy to use. Go for Studio 8. DVD authoring with menu is included. You should be able to create DVD just by using Studio 8. Capture, Edit, Make, Burn. (I am using Studio 7 now)

  5. Hard to aswer since I am fighting quality issue of SVCD right now. So far I like output from Studio 7 more then TMPGEnc SVCD standard template. Maybe I just need to play with TMPGEnc setup.

I have 7 (and PE), but have made little use of it. Cnet said they liked V8 and I considered upgrade (not that Pinacle offered much incentive for previous owners). I got very turned off by reading Cnet's "User comments" which as of a month ago anyway were not very supportive.
