    I can't convert any movies in TMPGEnc it starts to convert and after while it just freezes up the computer. any fix for this?

    Check your movies first, any that have freeze frames can lock up TMPGEnc. I use "Vdub freeze frame.exe" to find the bad frames, then remove them before convertion.
