  1. Instead of making 2 seperate VCDs (or even SVCDs) I decided to go the XVCD route and attempt to get everything on one cd since my Pioneer DV-333 can pretty much play anything I can burn...

It's 83 minutes, and I encoded it using MPEG-2 w/ VBR, and dropped the sound down to 128k. I'm attempting to burn this 730mb file on Nero and it says that it's actually 830+ MB when I attempt to burn it, and of course it ejects my CD-R. It's so strange because it looks like it'll fit before I burn it, and for the first few seconds it looks okay, then all of the sudden the file-size jumps ~100 mb and length jumps a little bit, and it won't work.

I tried making a BIN of the mpeg to see if it was just a Nero thing, but the BIN also came out over 800 megs.

I just want to understand why this is happening at all, because I'm confused about the results I'm getting.

Any response would be appreciated - I'm still hoping to fit this on 1 80-min CD, if possible.

    *EDIT* -----------
I've attempted to overburn the cd (I've never tried it before) but Nero still won't even let the burning start, even though it should be able to overburn this correctly (I think?).

  2. go into Nero's options and in the Expert Features turn on overburning, set the max time your recorder will support (i use 83:30:00). When you go to burn it you MUST set the write method to Disk-at-Once
