I saw a lot of guys asking how to make SVCD menus or mpeg stills with background music: Here is my simple way to do it. You do not have to understand .xml at all.
1 create all your files:
mpeg stills(using VCDeasy, look for the method at this forum)
muxed mp2s ( all with TMPGenc, convert from wav to mp2, then multiplex it)
muxed video clips (TMPGenc)
2 make exactly th e same number of still mpeg files using excatly the same set of names as your audio mpegs.
3 open VCDeasy and follow the wizard of making the SVCD. drag and drop the fake audio mpegs (actully are mpeg stills, cos VCDeasy won't take audio-only clips).
4 checkmark the "generate the XML file only"
5 arrange the file in the order you wish them to be played out. put the fake audio mpeg right after the menu or still you wish to play with.
6 under "options", check mark "use PBC"
7 go to "interactivities" tab. construct your menu. Set "0" as wait time for each menu item. the sound track you wish to play with under "then on time out".
8 for the sound track, choose "1" as the wait time, next slide/menu/still (what ever) under "then on time out.
9 use the same "prev, next, return" item for both the still and the accompanying sound track.
10 it would be a good idea to start with a still without music and set the waittime at "5". something like welcome ect.
11 edit your numeric choices while you work on the menus.
12 click "go" to generate the XML file(let's say "svcd.xml). cut and paste it into the same folder where you keep your VCDimager files including vcdxbuild.exe.
13 cut and paste the real audio mpegs to same folder where you store the fake ones. choose yes when ask to replace or not ( cos they are of exactly the same namesand extension).
14 open your command prompt. go to the folder of vcdimager(making sure the vcdxbuild.exe and the xml file are also there). type in "vcdxbuild -b svcd.bin -c svcd.cue svcd.xml" and hit enter. You are done after you see finished on the DOS screen.
15 go to the folder and find the .cue and .bin file, do what ever you want with them. Emulate or burn it onto a CD-RW.
Good luck!! folks
