  1. I've got quite a simple question I think. I download quite a few DIX's from sources like edonkey. In general those files are files are around 732000 000 / 733000 000 bytes.
Since these files are so clearly optimized stay within this maximum size, I asume this is to enable people to fit them on a CD. (Especially since when the files are larger they split them around that size).

Should I be able to fit this on a 700 meg CD? How? My burn program (Nero) rejects the file when it is above 729000000 bytes. Also CDRWin locks up when trying to write such a file.
My burner does not support overburn.

Before I decide to shorten these file (making me loose a couple of minutes of a movie) I would like to know how U guys do this?

  2. Other than overburning, if it's a few megs, there is no way. I get plenty of movies that are ~720-740MB, there's really nothing you can do unless there's credits at the end that you want to get rid of. I have a server that is connected to my TV so I watch the movies right off my HD.

  3. Your should burn the divx files as VCD or SVCDs. When you encode from divx to (S)VCD you can choose the bitrate you need to make them fit in 1 or more CDs (depending on the quality you would like to have). Also you can fit 800Mb in a 700Mb CD (if you burn it as (S)VCD).
