I use Virtual Dub to frameserve AVI files into TMPGEnc to create MPEG2 files.
Question - in the VDub settings, does it matter whether I use "direct stream" or "full processing mode" to do this?
Second question - to frameserve AVI into TMPG, does it matter what the video compression settings are set at in VDub?
Perhaps there is some really good guide on these VDub settings that somebody could point me to.
    Thanks!

    1) If you have filters then you MUST use full processing mode.

    2) No it does not matter at all. Video information is transfered in RGB uncomressed.

use direct strem copy if you are not using filters.
compression settings don't matter"if" you are using direct stream copy.

if using filters, use full processing. then set the compression to "uncompressed rgb"

You don't need to frameserve using Vdub to DVD2SVCD, the latest version DVD2SVCD supports AVI's.
