    i uploaded video camera footage - burned as vcd - now it will not open on my pc but does play on my tv dvd player.

    i followed this advice on this site: in Windows
    You can play VCDs with Windows Media Player, insert the VCD in your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM and browse to the MPEGAV folder and double click on the .dat file and associate it with Media Player and open them with that.
    i even tried that w/ divx.

    but no luck. any suggestion?

    Just rename the file with the .mpg extention

    Hi,

    you can also burn on your vcd .asx files pointing to your .dat files

    Try and upgrade WMP to 7 or higher, then browse to the .dat.
