  1. I have tried to change the region (to r1) code for this DVD Player using the play 159 - etc. This seemed to work (blue screen 3 secs etc), then changed back to region 2, and player froze. I read around the forum and disconnected the player several times, and got her back, checked that player was now region 2, and 'she' froze again. Also read may help to go back to 'INITIALIZE' screen by pressing 3 buttons can't remember which. I did this and now player is totally stuck on initialize screen, can't move cursor up or down or do anything, tried disconnecting etc for 2 days and NOTHING. Even bought a One for all remote to try to correct things, but no response..........What can I do now, (I know take it to the repair shop, is this the only option?)!

Well, if U can't find a firmware upgrade or some other way to reset your DVD, I'd say: Go shopping! With the prices of DVD's these days, there's no idea trying to repair...

  5. Hey guess what, anyone who's interested.. I fixed probs! After more twiddling about with buttons, managed to get the dashes (-----------) up again, entered a different code (with Philips remote) to get back to Region 2 than I had been using posted in DVD Hacks on this site -6. "For back region 2 same procedure but code 020 000 000 000" posted by 'Dan'. I entered 002 000 000 000 and it WORKED! Had it got anything to do with him being in Italy (still same region though, stupid idea? Or was it a mistake by Dan. Anyway all is well, now I can spend my pennies on something else! Oh I tried to upgrade the firmware as instructed by not possible with model - get error message...
