Does anyone know how fast a dual 1.25Ghz powermac can encode like an hour long vcd and how long it takes to encode an svcd? i'm tempted to get one as my next system and wondering how fast encodign on it would be.

and the question must be asked is - how efficiently is your encoder working?
A well configured encoder for the PC - CCE will encode at about 5.5-6 times realtime for a standard VCD on a P4 1.9 i.e. a 60 minute VCD takes 10 minutes to encode
A poor encoder might not pass 2-3 times realtime speed.
