Ok, I've been working with file conversions, SVCDs, and DivX, yet recently I have been coming across a problem that I do not know how to remidy by a simple re-encode or file conversion and repairing for that matter. I have every Family Guy episode (finally) and now with my DVD-R I am planning to make what FOX won't put out, a set of Family Guy DVDs. So I acquired the episodes (finally) and to my amusement they were encoded in a MPEG1 format. So using DVDit SE which came with my VAIO and TMPEnc I demultiplexed the files and converted the audio to wav format to create the DVD. Well, it seems the encoder(s) who made the files didn't make them to the liking of DVDit SE. The error I got was that the MPEG file was missing sequence headers at the beginning of each GOP. Weeeee, I thought. I brought the files into several of the "fixing" progs on the site but to know avail. (One did work, bllmeg, I think, but bad video, couldn't fix that either) So, I also happen to have Scenatist. I tried the file in there but got this error message, between sequence_header_code should be equal or smaller than 18. I do not know how to fix this. Could someone give me settings for TMPGEnc to get DVD compliant MPEGs that will be free from this problem. I have TMPGEnc version 2.02. Please show a little compassion to a Family Guy fan and help out.
Thanks,
Mike G.

If they are already in mpeg-1 you wont improve anything by converting to mpeg-2. VCD standard mpeg-1 video with audio at 48Khz is valid for DVD and should be accepted by DVDit. If the files you currently have are not compliant, I would re-encode in Tmpgenc using the standard VCD template, except change the audio to 48Khz (you might want to use ssrc for upsampling and toolame for encoding the audio).
Hope this helps.
